Inscription on Title Page reads "For Annette Green from Noel Coward'. Verso front free endpaper has handwriting reading: 'Read By - Annette Green … 29 Oct. 1937, [then, next line in different hand and pen] V.R. Green … 12 May 1946'. The playright's Preface runs over nine-and-a-half pages [from Aldington, Kent], includes comments ''Home Chat' … above average .. except for one grave failing, unreasonable brevity… has one or two moments of quite unpardonable superficiality …'; ''Sirocco' … produced … amid scenes of indescribable tumult'; 'This was a Man' - 'I fear that the privilege of witnessing this comedy will be denied the Great British Public indefinitely'. There follows the text of the three Coward plays: (I) 'Home Chat', Three Acts, 10 characters; (ii) 'Sirocco', Three Acts, 15 characters; and (iii) 'This Was a Man', Three Acts, 9 characters. NOEL COWARD signature identical to other known examples.
