Caroline Lowthian was a prolific composer of dance pieces including the Marguerite and Swallows Waltzes, Old Love and the New Waltz ,The Vanity Fair Polka ,The Mother Hubbard Polka,The Black and Tan Polka and the Venetia Waltz. She is mentioned briefly in Brown & Stratton's British Musical Biography as a composer of dance tunes and a ballet and also by her married name Mrs Cyril A. Prescott but nothing else.
