No publication date, however Muir II, 765 gives 1925. Title page states Illustrated by W. E. Wightman, however only one of the illustrations within the book bears a signature. The jacket illustration is by R. George Campbell and features two horsemen, one clean-shaven and the other not, shaking hands. "Black" warrior dancing on backstrip illustration. Top edge of text block tinted pale red, traces of foxing to the front edge of the text block and the front endpages, splash mark on front fold over flap, the dust jacket has been price clipped, yet still shows printers 7/6 net just above the price clipping. A living picture of the far Australian desert with its wastes of arid sands, its soul-subduing vastness, its pitiless, shimmering heat in which men lie down to die.
