Originally performed as Harlequin's Museum, or Mother Shipton Triumphant on 20.12.1792 London. composed by John Abraham Fisher (1744 - 1806) who began working as a violinist in London theatre orchestras, making his debut at the King's Theatre on 25 January 1765. He became attached to the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, in 1767 where, in addition to composing incidental music, he led the orchestra during the period 1769-1778. Fisher's theatrical music enjoyed considerable success. Fisher had a stormy marriage with Nancy Storace( 1766-1817). The Harlequin Museum had additional music by William Shield(1748-1829) English composer of operas originally lived in South Shields but worked his way south through his musical skills until by 1778 he had the Flitch of Bacon produced at the Haymarket Theatre and for the next 13 years he was composer to Covent Garden Theatre.The again from 1792-7 . This Lapland duet sung by Mrs Martyr & Miss Broadhurst. Condition VG .
