1873. Sydney: Thomas Richards, 1873. 8vo. Orig. full presentation calf, blind embossed, bevelled boards, and with gilt title on front cover. Raised spine bands. Marbled end-papers. (66pp). This copy has an original photo portrait with printed signature "Yours faithfully W.C. Wentworth" opposite the title-page. The presence of the portrait has been missed by all the copies cited by Ferguson No. 18325. This copy is obviously a special presenation issue and contains additional newspaper clippings. The text entirely printed within a black lined border. Rare. NOTE: It was W.C. Wentworth, together with Gregory Blaxland and William Lawson, who first crossed the Blue Mountains in 1813. This tribute contains the eulogies paid in Parliament and at the graveside, in memorial poems, and a full account of the obsequies.
