Within the text they are another 11 black-and-white illustrations by the same artist. Illustrated boards, on the front panel showing a man in mediaeval costume with an axe and a torch in his hands and on the spine there is an illustration of two coats of arms, against a green background with gilt, red and white writing on the front panel and gilt on the spine. The spine illustration has some gilt colouration. Green to all paper edges. The book is in quite shabby shape. The cloth of the book is rubbed, faded and quite marked. Creasing and tearing of the cloth at the spine ends and the spine is soft and consequently the book is slightly cocked. "Prize Plate" is on the front paste down. Foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. The rear hinge has split and pages 39-42 have come away from the binding. A few handling marks and other marks within the book. The spine has become quite visible in numerous places throughout the book. "The long and bloody feud between the houses of Orleans and Burgundy -- which for many years devastated France, caused a prodigious destruction of life and property, and was not even on relaxed in the presence of a common enemy -- is very fully recorded in the pages of Monstrellet and other contemporary historians. I have here only attempted to relate the events of the early portion of the struggle -- from its commencement up to the astonishing victory of Agincourt, won by a handful of Englishmen over the chivalry of France.". There is no publishing date within the book, but the "Prize Plate" is daed 1905.. No Date. Illustrated Boards. Average for Age/Nil, as Issued. Illus. by Wal.
