London, Enoch & Son . ( c 1880) . With a colour lithograph cover by Thomas Packer of a young woman sitting on a chaise longe seemingly in a ball gown but inset above her head is a misty picture of a young couple sitting probably by a loch. Sadly the composer Otto Roeder and the songwriter Paul Rodney have slipped into obscurity. The French company Enoch established its London Branch under Emile Enoch(1844-1924) and they were located at that address only between 1875-87) and that helps to date the piece . The fine illustrated cover is by Thomas Packer who died in 1897. He was particularly famous for the skies in his art work and it earned him the nickname of-Graduated tint Packer because he invented a process that allowed great subtlety in moonlight, sunsets and clouds. Folio size with music. Slightly trimmed at top to no loss and bottom for slight loss to lithographers name else condition good.
